I didnt' want a 1000gal + pond back in 2001, ( but now I do!!) so this is just right for just a few goldfish.. We placed this right behind the house on a narrow allowed space that goes from 16ft to 3ft. It worked out great and I can enlarge it later on.. The house shades it around 5pm.. The fence panel keeps the dogs out and holds the shade cloth for the upper pond and keeps out the leaves too!!.. The pond as of July 6, 2009 The upper lined 40gal naturally shaded but stil needs covered for now.. Covered as it has been HOT here, 100+ for days now!! the water has stayed at 74-76F!! This is a canopy from a pop-up that broke. I have had this for ever just hanging around, and now I have another one U can see in the first pic I want to turn into a water spout.. I placed in a purslane plant in a quart size plastic bag and it is doing great!! Ross moss would be used next yr.. Neat Idea if U have one. but dont' let it stay in the sun to long!! metal gets hot fast..

I had some lillies given to me the other day and one had blooms on it not yet opened. So TODAY, one opened!! nice to see.. I had to remove most of the lillie pads as they were left out of the water before I got their.. so they turned bad.. BUT they wil sprout up more I am sure. I hope they cover the whole surface.. GREEN water!! hate it but the lillie wil not bloom with out sunshine!! darn it.. Covered now as it is like 100+ all this week.. Shot with MICRO setting on my camra: I did use a color inhance on the MICRO pic as it is already in the shade. All it did was bring out the yellows/white more.. Just so U can compare it with the orginal pic: This is the same pic without the color inhancement: Her pond is deeper then mine, 5' to my 18", so the lillie pads are like really LONG stemed!! the new ones won't do this and look more fuller..
