Hey
I did a full water change on my aquarium and now 2 of my convicts are turning black. There is 2 pairs of convicts in the aquarium and has been for a while. They have spawned and I have about 250 small convicts I removed and put them in another aquarium. The 1 male and female are the usual colors white with black stripes, but the other male and female is black/blueish of color and all of them is chasing the black/blueish female to exhaustion. Is there something wrong with my water or do they just need to adjust to the new surroundings?
Please some advice. This is not the first time I did a water change as they have spawned before and I had to clean the aquarium, but it's the first time they are turning black/blueish in color.

Yea Zippo. i have had pc probs for a few months and not on much.
SO what are the convicts doing now?? color changes are normal after a water change.. ESPECIALLY after a water change!! they want to spawn so the males changes colors to attract the female..
HOW much water change do U do? U should not do more than 1/2 of the tanks water at one time. DO the filter too at the same time or U waste a good water change..
OTHER females will KILL other females.. So know that now. colors can differ greatly in Convicts. I had light gray/dark striped to dark gray/dark stripes..
ONLY keep pairs in the tank at one time. NO others!! Extra females or a single male will be killed as they are a threat to the nest.. Keep floating plants, fake are fine at the top so the extra convicts can hide in them, if U can not move them out.. I did this and it worked out great..
Convicts are tough and can survive abuse in a tank.. But give them a chance with places to hide will help them greatly..
